Workshop 2

Cinema, Memory and the Community: Establishing new collaborations

This one-day workshop will focus on future collaborations and developing new work. There will be time set aside to address specific issues raised by contributors during and after the first workshop, but the focus will predominantly be on exploring common interests and establishing new partnerships. Participants will have the opportunity to share and discuss ideas for future work with potential collaborators from universities and the public and private sectors, while representatives from funding bodies will be invited to advise on ways of turning these ideas into new, fundable projects. The afternoon will focus on planning for and forming a network of researchers, practitioners and other bodies and organisations interested in memories of cinemas and cinema-going in order to sustain this area into the future. Participants will be encouraged to discuss how such a network could best meet their needs, with the aim of shaping a funding proposal to support the new network over the coming years.
